Under suggestions to posters, give them guidance on timelines

One shortcoming of jobs posted here is that it is VERY common for jobs to be left open until very, very close to the event date. Given how many posters here are new to trying to get a speaker for an event, it would be good to give them some guidance, and one area to be helpful would be to recommend they make decisions relatively early. Keeping the listing open another few weeks might get you one or two more applications, but it costs you applications too. For example, I can't pass on significant...

Move the navigation in the application view to a consistent location

In the new application console, some of the navigation items are on the left (consistent with other things on the site), but the path back to the main dashboard is label as "return to member center", and is located over on the top right. This is non-intuitive.and, given the low contract color choices, it is extremely difficult to find. I would suggest that all navigation for typical site usage being in one nav bar (left is where it has been, but nothing says it can't change - consistency would j...

make sure the status of job postings are still shown

i find it incredibly useful that you make sure that i can see how many people applied, how many were declined, how many are shortlisted, etc. please don't get rid of that. It's still there! You'll find the application stats at the top of the job details popup. Just click the "View Full Job Posting" button.

Add a line in the event planners form

Add a line in the event planners form to say who IS the decision maker and their title You'll see the event planner's (decision maker's) contact information when an application is shortlisted or accepted unless they have chosen to make the information available to all applicants.

Fix bug (Minor, but visible) in status box of applications

Applications that are started, but not yet submitted still have a date in the "Application Submitted:" line of the application status page. For example, an application that was started a short time ago, but is not yet completed shows in a manner that implies it is already submitted today. Great catch! Thanks so much for pointing this out. Fixed!

Encourage resolution of the job

I've won a few jobs on the site (thank you), but one consistent thing I've noticed both on those I've won and those I've come close to winning, is that the organization listing the request manage the flow differently and in a manner that miscommunicates status. For example, on the jobs I've won, I've gone from pending to under review to short listed, back to under review, and I believe they are all sitting at pending now - even though I have contracted gigs. The system does not appear to do eno...

Different suggestion for same overall problem

I want to again state how non-intuitive the new application center is - particularly given the navigation paradigm in use over the rest of the site. I want to be forgiving, but it is a UX nightmare. I see what it's trying to do, but it is very inefficient and non-intuitive from a user perspective. A few suggestions: The left pane currently wasted. That is a ton of real estate taking up with a "Welcome to Your NEW Application Center!" message (by the way, it isn't that new at this point). That me...

Feedback.

Understand that people posting jobs don't have time to respond to each application, but it would be helpful if SpeakerMatch offered frequent critiques. Never sure if I'm writing too much, not enough, or what's lacking in my presentations. Thanks! You can use the tools in your member portal to request feedback directly from planners! Is there a spot where we can put programs that can be conducted virtually or to flag our profile page as a place where virtual programs can be listed. Thanks, Judy
